What to wear to Sadies?

At my sadie hawkins some people dress in costumes to match each other (I did this one year and went as a 1950s girl with my date being a greaser), sometimes just matching t-shirts (did this one too but also bought matching gles and hats) just in general match each other and ask whoever is hosting the dance if it is formal or informal for your school.
