Can the Atkin's-type diet throw a person into the hypoglycemic danger zone?

I recently bought the newest Atkins diet book, and began. Within two days I was tremoring, headaches, constant sweat, heart beating very hard, beyond irritable, crying jags, dizziness, spots before my eyes & more. I looked up hypoglycemia on the Mayo Clinic website and I was having every symptom except ping out and coma! I lost 8 lbs. in 5 days. I have no way of testing my blood sugar, so I really don't know if hypoglycemia was what the problem is, but I decided to eat as I normally do (bad) and began feeling better, however it took 2 days to get over it. I want to be on this diet, but now I'm afraid. If the answer is yes, this diet can do this, should I go to the doctor, because it seems to me I have a problem.
