OK...you're going to have to investigate this a bit further on your own, but I'll see if I can give you a bit of direction in your thinking. George is a businessman in New York City. So think about the candidate's positions and what George might have thought about them. Also, George is an urban Northern dweller, and most Southerners at the time are agrarian. His interests and those of a Southerner would be very different. So, try to put yourself in George's shoes and figure out who George would find compelling as a candidate. Good luck.
