Skipped bail payments?

my husband was arrested for felony aggravated ult last year for hitting someone with a bottle in at a club. I bailed him out and is surety on his $5000 bond. Six weeks ago , he tried to kill me and beat me up so bad , my left eye is 75% blind. I was in hospital for days. The police have warrants on him for attempted murder, aggravated ult, aggravated battery and false imprisonment for what he did to me. he is on the run. He was supposed to appear in court for his previous ult charge from last year and he didnt show up. I had called the bond company to tell them the situation in advance. They called me when they recieved notification that he didnt come to court. They have told me that in three months they will want their $5000 cash. I need to know how bond companys collect their money if some one skips bail and if I can work a payment arrangement. I dont even think there is a way to fight paying them but I dont have $5000. so please tell me how skipped bail payments work.
